A little bit about me...
Hello, I'm Sarah and I love to create beautiful photographs for people to treasure.
I read fine art photography at university and my motivation back then to create images remains the same today: a fascination for memory. I believe that photography and memory are intrinsically bound. Not only do photographs inspire reverie and encourage us to remember moments from our past, they also play an important role as we piece together our family and social histories.
I am fortunate to have had my work published in The British Journal of Photography, You & Your Wedding, Wedding Magazine, Reverie Magazine, Beyond Retro, Wedding Flowers, and Cosmo Bride. I also shoot a number of fashion commissions each year; some recent clients being Blackburn Bridal Couture, No.3 Chiltern Street, Clinton Lotter & Amanda Garrett.
Inspiration & Style...
I love to take inspiration from all kinds of popular culture, but what really drives me in the moment to click the shutter at a wedding or Love Shoot is my genuine interest in people. To me, engaging with your subjects, and being open to their characters and stories is what creates real photographic chemistry.
At a wedding I like to work quietly at the heart of the action, reacting to natural moments unfolding around me. I offer direction when needed in order to craft a better image. It's in my nature to be calm and to put people at ease, which I think comes across in my photography.
I believe that my images themselves embrace simple composition, spontaneity and lots of joy. I also like them to have a light and delicate quality, so that they look as much as is possible as memory feels.
