It was more than hot on the rugged and beautiful island of Skiathos. The ceremony was set for early evening as is traditional in Greece but also a blessing as the church was located at the top of a very steep hill with winding paths and many steps. Max ascended first with the wedding party and was shortly followed by Fay and her family. At the very top of the hill Max presented Fay with her bouquet and they walked to the church together. The evening sun shone in through the windows of the tiny Agios Nikolaos Church as the couple were married in Ancient Greek.

Back at Skiathos Princess Hotel Fay & Max decided to keep the decor simple bringing in natural elements from the island itself such as olive branches, pots of basil and seashells. White lanterns were hung in rows above the tables which made for some lovely ambient light once the sun had set. After dinner and speeches the Greek dancing began. It was brilliant. Energetic, loud, fast impossible to not join in. Thank you Fay and Max for inviting me to photograph you wedding, it was magic.

With special thanks to my assistant and second shooter – Ella Brown

A couple of weeks ago Britten Weddings teamed up with Gooch & Gawler to photograph their new collection. Thanks to Matthew and his trusty stop watch (!) we photographed over 100 beautiful pieces made by Sarah’s fair hands. It was a roller coaster of a shoot and Hannah and I loved every minute. Lace dresses by Katya Katya Shehurina and beaded backless Clinton Lotter dress available from Blackburn Bridal. Special thanks to Elbie Van Eeden for her beautiful hair and makeup as always, Ross Bennett for the gorgeous light-flarey video and Juste and Chelsea for modelling.

The evening before Fay & Max’s wedding we took a stroll around the old town of Skiathos. We walked from the church where they were having the ceremony to a tiny island where they were throwing a welcome party for their guests. It’s no illusion here that they look so relaxed – Fay & Max have got to be one of the most laid back couples I’ve had the privilege to photograph for. Planning a wedding in Greece from London? What’s the worry? Fay told me during the planning process that everything would work out just fine and she was more than right! See the wedding images here.
