New Groom Style Shoot | Nonsuch Mansion

I cannot tell you how long I have wanted to do this shoot! OK – it is supposed to be fun and should make you smile but I really hope it will inspire grooms to flex their creative muscles when planning their wedding attire. Weddings are more and more becoming about reflecting the couples’ personality and less about every detail having to match. Hiring morning tails is not compulsory (why not evening ones instead?) nor is wearing a big flower if you’re not that kind of guy… you might like to have more masculine herbs in your buttonhole or some fly fishing feathers? There’s so much inspiration to draw from – have fun with it! This shoot was influenced by some famous characters and eras – let me know if you work out who any of them are…

Special thanks to all the guys at iamstaggered for their support on the project, to Nonsuch Mansion for lending us their lovely space and to Kevin for being my man muse!

  • New Groom Style Shoot | Beyond Retro Vintage Clothing Blog - […] Like much of the world, we’ve become pretty obsessed with weddings this year and, being in the month for marriages, we thought we’d share these beautiful photos from photographer Sarah Gawler. She called upon Beyond Retro’s Kevin, our head pricer and the man behind many of our Vintage Spotlights, to style and star in this shoot aimed at breaking the conventions surrounding men’s wedding attire, using no small number of our own items to do so! Far from the traditional military uniforms worn by the royal family for Kate and Will’s getting hitched, this is all about encouraging grooms to dare to be different and choose an outfit that reflects their personality rather than formal expectations. What do you think of the looks? Take a peek at the pictures below and be sure to check out the full shoot here. […]ReplyCancel
